This extraordinary expedition takes you through the heart of the Himalayas, from the bustling city of Chengdu in China to the sacred city of Kathmandu in Nepal. Along the way, you will traverse the Tibetan Plateau, visit the remote Everest Base Camp, and explore the ancient monasteries and temples of Tibet.
Day 1: Arrive in Chengdu
Arrive in Chengdu and check into your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2: Leshan Giant Buddha and Emeishan Scenic Spot
Visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, a colossal 71-meter-tall statue carved into a cliff face. Then, take a cable car up to Emeishan Scenic Spot, a beautiful mountaintop with temples and monasteries.
Day 3: Chengdu to Lhasa
Take a morning flight to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. On arrival, check into your hotel and acclimatize to the high altitude.
Day 4: Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple
Visit the Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Then, explore Jokhang Temple, the most sacred temple in Tibet.
Day 5: Lhasa to Shigatse
Drive to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. On the way, stop at the Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in Tibet.
Day 6: Sakya Monastery and Rongbuk Monastery
Visit Sakya Monastery, one of the six great monasteries of Tibet. Then, continue to Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world.
Day 7: Everest Base Camp
Drive to Everest Base Camp, located at the foot of Mount Everest. Spend the night at a guesthouse and enjoy stunning views of the mountain.
Day 8: Rongbuk Monastery to Shigatse
Drive back to Shigatse. On the way, stop at the Gyantse Kumbum, a large Buddhist stupa.
Day 9: Shigatse to Lhasa
Drive back to Lhasa. On the way, stop at the Yamdrok Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Tibet.
Day 10: Lhasa to Kathmandu
Take a morning flight to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. On arrival, check into your hotel and relax.
Day 11: Kathmandu Valley
Visit the Kathmandu Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ancient cities of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur.
Day 12: Depart from Kathmandu
Bid farewell to Nepal and depart from Kathmandu.
